Jocelyn AE Russell creates sculptures and functional ceramics out of porcelain and installations that include fabric, embroidery, rock salt, and found objects. She mainly works in porcelain and hand-builds her pieces using the pinch and coil method (pinching a base and adding coils to build the walls) to create functional and sculptural works. She incorporates handmade paper, textiles, and porcelain to create installations inspired by her time near and on the water and the natural world.
Jocelyn has an MFA from Parsons School of Design in sculpture and installation and is a founding member of Mother Creatrix Collective (MCC)– a group of artist mothers who work together to support each other's artistic practices by creating exhibition opportunities.
